Jamshedpur, Aug 28: East Singhbhum athletes put up a splendid performance on day one of the 14th Jharkhand State Junior Athletics Championship which began at at DAV Ground, Rajrappa, Ramgarh on Wednesday, August 28. Nitin Sharma bagged the first spot in the long jump event of the under-20 boys’ category. In the under-20 girls category Pushplata Murmu was third on 100 m race and Supriya Singh bagged the third position in discus throw. The sporting event is being organised by Ramgarh District Athletics Association.
In under-18 boys Pankaj Yadav was second in shout put event while Jamuna Tudu bagged first spot in high jump and second position in 100 m race in under-18 girls’ category.
In under-16 boys category Sumanto Goria bagged the first spot in 100 m race. In under-16 girls Lucky Kumari topped the 100 m race while Shayeri Bhowmick was second in the same event.
