Jamshedpur, Nov 1: The third Yasin Ustad State Handball Championship kicked off on Saturday at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, hosted by the East Singhbhum District Handball Association. On the opening day, teams from East Singhbhum, Gumla, Ranchi, Koderma, Dumka, Chatra, Urban Services, and Hazaribagh showcased impressive performances to secure their places in the quarterfinals.

The championship was inaugurated by Syed Tariq Alam, Chairman of Excel Technical Institute, along with Md Tahir and Chand Alam as chief guests. Firoz Khan, Treasurer of the Jharkhand State Handball Association, delivered the welcome address.

Also present were Secretary Khurshid Khan, SA Siddiqui, Shahbaz Khan, Rajendra Kumar, Azim Khan, Syed Azhar Hussain alias Tipu, and Tausif Khan.

A total of 16 teams from across Jharkhand, including East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Bokaro, Chatra, Dhanbad, Dumka, Deoghar, Giridih, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Koderma, Ranchi, Lohardaga, Urban Services, Steel Makers, and Tata Steel, are participating in the tournament.
