East Singhbhum district administration to purchase weed harvesting machines

Jamshedpur, Oct 19: East Singhbhum district administration will soon purchase weed harvesting machines for carrying out cleanliness drive across various water bodies in the city. This was informed by Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Law and Order Nand Kishore Lal. He said the machines would make removal of waterlilies and other weeds from Swarnarekha and Kharkai rivers and ponds before Chhath festival every year. This would greatly help the civic bodies keep the water bodies clean, he said.

The ADM said the weed harvesting machines would be most likely purchased at the beginning of the next year. He said Ranchi Municipal Corporation was the first civic body in Jharkhand to have purchased the weed harvesting machine last year. The machine was purchased at an expense of Rs 2 crore.
