East Singhbhum District Administration does laudable job

95% physically challenged persons turn out to vote

Jamshedpur, May 12: The district administration has earned the kudos of voters who went to exercise their franchise at various booths in the Jamshedpur LS constituency. Basic facilities like shelter, seating arrangements and cold water were provided. Of course, the cloud cover too spelt relief from the otherwise grueling heat conditions prevailing in the district.

However, the physically challenged voters were all praise for the administration for the facilities provided to them. The concern for their comfort yielded most of their blessings in the form of these special people�s 95 percent turnout. These special people were sent out invitations to participate in the Festival of Democracy. Vehicles were sent to their places of residence and as they arrived at their respective booths, wheelchairs were waiting to take them to the voting place. They were driven back home after they cast their votes. Anganwadi Sevikas, Sahayikas and Sahiyas ensured the comfort level of such voters.  An elderly lady using a set of crutches and who did not wish to be named said, �God bless the people who arranged for us to vote comfortably. They have helped me to feel proud by enabling me to vote for a candidate of my choice.� Does one need say more?
