Jamshedpur, April 4: East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner cum Returning Officer Amit Kumar Thursday convened a meeting on medical plan for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The DC said the election at Jamshedpur seat would be held on 12th May, a time when summer would be at its peak. As a result of soaring mercury levels, polling duty staff may face health problems due to heat, he said, adding further that the administration had planned to keep backup teams ready to deal with exigency health situations.
Kumar said all polling duty personnel including security personnel should be provided best medical facility during the elections. Special arrangements would be made in all hospitals from 10th May to 12th May, he said.
The DC said ramps and other basic civic amenities would be available for voters at the polling booths across East Singhbhum. All polling duty personnel would be given first aid kits.
