Seminar on IOT at RVS College

Jamshedpur, April 4: A seminar on Internet of Things (IOT) was conducted at RVS College of Engineering and Technology in which Amit Sharma of TCS was the chief guest. Also present on the dais were the College dean Dr Rajesh Kumar Tiwary, CSE Department-in-charge Prof Jivan Kumar and MCA Department-in-charge Prof Kishore Kumar Rai.

Interacting with the students, Amit Sharma explained the nuances and feasibilities of utilizing IOT system. He said, �IOT is such a technology that makes it easier for us to manage our day-to-day routine effectively and save time.�

He cited an example of leaving the refrigerator on at home while leaving for some place for some time. �If you use the IOT technique, you will receive a message on your phone that is fridge is on and you can go back and switch it off. This way, you can save on electricity and also protect yourself from mishaps,� he said.

Amit Sharma stated that the IOT technology could be used in varied fields like the agriculture sector, industrial sector, medical and medicinal fields, consumer products, defense services, automobile segment, environment, traffic control, home automation and other areas.
