Jamshedpur, Jan. 22: East Singhbhum district commissioner Amit Kumar said that the baseline survey conducted by the government in the year 2012 has been considered as the basis and according to the same eligible and ineligible has been selected and target has been set for the toilet construction at number of homes.
Kumar informed that intensive monitoring is being done under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan by the union government and chief secretary of the state. The Chief Secretary holds weekly review meeting of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Reviewing the progress of the toilet construction at block levels as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Rural, DC Amit Kumar said, it’s time we should move forward and work to speed up the projects.
DC directed all the block development officers to hire extra workforce so that the toilet construction work can speed up.
Kumar also asked to upload the photographs of the toilets build at panchayats, at Swachh Bharat Mission portals without any delay.
He further said that it’s not possible mapping the work in progress at the district level and its must be tagged at panchayat and village level. DC Kumar asked the BDO’s to complete the work involving the local representatives.
‘The list for toilets constructions at has houses has been made and the work should be brought to the ground level at the earliest. The review for toilet construction, photo upload and Swachh Bharat Mission at all the blocks will be held every week’, said DC adding, ‘meeting should also be held at block levels so that the work could be done at faster pace’.
DC further informed that all the people should fix their responsibility and complete the work with efficiency and those village mukhiyas are found taking no interest in the work should be send reports, added Amit Kumar.
Also present at the meeting were Deputy Development commissioner, DRDA director, drinking water department officers, district public relation officer, all the block development officers.
