Jamshedpur: Durga Puja pandal was inaugurated at The Milanee, Bistupur, on Thursday by the chief guest Sekhar Dey, well-known industrialist and social worker.
The guest of honour for the occasion was Subrata Dutta, an Arjuna awardee. The inaugural function was held on the Club premises at 7 pm.
A souvenir was jointly released on the occasion by Sekhar Dey and Subrata Dutta. In his address, Dey wished the city people on the occasion of Navratri and Durga Puja.
He also wished the people a happy and peaceful festive season.
The function concluded with the puja committee members taking a pledge for safe and happy celebration of Durga Puja.
Soon after the inauguration, devotees thronged the puja venue in large numbers.
This is the second year of Durga Puja celebration at the Milanee, informed the puja organizers.
