Jamshedpur, Sept 18: On Thursday, the Jamshedpur Durga Puja Central Committee team, led by General Secretary Ashutosh Singh, accompanied senior district officials to inspect various immersion ghats in the city. The visit was conducted to review and address concerns raised by the committee over the past few days.
The committee highlighted the inconveniences caused by the ongoing construction of the bridge at Sakchi Swarnarekha Ghat. To ease the situation, it was agreed to widen the exit route for immersion vehicles and to resolve the issue of large girders placed on the riverbank.
The Central Committee also demanded adequate lighting, ambulances and cranes at all immersion sites. At Bagbera Baroda Ghat, where bridge construction is underway, the committee requested the identification and repair of an alternative route. Concerns were also raised about reduced ghat width due to the river’s high water levels.
The Deputy Commissioner assured the delegation that all issues would be addressed promptly and instructed departmental officers to take necessary measures without delay.
Those present during the inspection included General Secretary Ashutosh Singh, Convener Pramod Tiwari, Paramatma Mishra, P.K. Das, Raghavendra Mishra, Abhishek Kumar, Shambhu Mukhi, Ravi Bhuiyan, Jitendra Kumar, Vijay Vardha, Santosh Kumar, Devendra Singh and Manveer Singh.
