Gamharia: Nilam Lata, district transport officer, Saraikela�Kharswan, seized 70 vehicles during a special drive to acquire vehicles for poll duty as per instructions of the district returning officer-cum-deputy commissioner.
Several checkpoints had been set up on Adityapur � Kandra main road on Saturday for the purpose. Documents of vehicles were also checked during the inspection.
During the drive, around Rs 15,000 were collected as fine on account of overloading. Notices were given to the vehicle owners to report to the District Vehicle Cell on 13th April morning.
