Jamshedpur, Dec 9: A group of drunken youths created ruckus near DM Madan School under Bistupur PS late Sunday evening. They smashed the windscreens of several cars parked on the main road and also assaulted several vendors for half an hour. Several people were injured in the violence, sources said.
Sources said the trouble began at 9.30 pm when the accused youths arrived near DM Madan School where vendors sell snacks and eatables daily in the evening. The youths reportedly misbehaved with a woman and other customers eating in front of a cart. When people standing nearby opposed this, they abused and threatened them and turned violent, sources said.
Some of the victims of violence informed police about the incident. Cops caught five youths and took them to Bistupur PS. One of the youths sustained head injury in the incident.
Rahul Kumar, brother of Nirmal, a vendor who also got injured in the incident, said, �Few youths passing through the main road in a car. Just then, the car hit a woman standing close by. The youths, sitting in the car, misbehaved with the woman. When several vendors and customers objected to this, the youths threatened them and returned with their gang to take revenge.�
