Dream a Dream delivering happiness in govt schools

Ranchi, Dec. 2: Dream a Dream since the last 20 years has been empowering young people from vulnerable backgrounds to overcome adversity and flourish in a fast changing world, using a creative life skills approach.

Brookings Institute, USA has recently completed its evaluation about ‘Happiness Curriculum’ which was designed to spread happiness among 8 lakh kids of class Kg to 8 and make their foundation development stronger. From July 2018 the Delhi Government has implemented the same in 1030 schools.      

Sucheta Bhat, Chief Executive Officer of Dream a Dream said, within two years of its implementation ‘Happiness Curriculum’ has made a positive impact on the kids which is good sign. Brookings in its report titled ‘Development of Student and Teacher Major of Happiness Curriculum Factors’ has shared evidence of self awareness, self inspection and communication level in students. According to the report, in everyday class of 35 minutes student’s concentration, understanding and solving complex topics, Self inspection and socio-emotional skills have been included in the report which will have positive improvement in student’s behaviour in the class and outside.   

Started in 1999, Dream a Dream works with 10,000 young people a year through our two innovation labs – After School Life Skills Programme and Career Connect Programme and have trained over 7,700 teachers/educators from 206 partners impacting over 1,92,500 children and have impacted over 1 million children through strategic partnerships with state governments in Delhi and Jharkhand. Dream a Dream works on a strong collaborative approach with local charities, corporates, volunteers, governments, expert consultants and a host of national and international strategic partners.
