Draft voter list publication in Jharkhand on July 25

Ranchi, July 23: Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar announced that the publication of the draft voter list will be done on July 25 under the second special summary revision program of the ongoing voter list revision in the state.

Informing media at Ranchi he said that on the occasion of publication of the draft voter list on July 25 in the state, the draft of this voter list will be displayed by BLOs at all polling stations.

He appealed to all the voters to go to their polling stations on July 25 in the morning and check their names in this draft voter list, if there is any discrepancy, then immediately inform your BLO. He said that if people want, they can check their name from home through the online mediums of Election Commission like Voter Helpline App or Voter Service Portal.

He said that voters can also check their name in the voter list through SMS from their mobile. For this, by writing ECI on your number, then giving a space, write your voter identity card (EPIC) number and send a message to 1950, information related to voter registration will be available through the message itself.

The Chief Electoral Officer said that if name in the voter list is checked  from now on, then there will be no uncomfortable situation at the time of elections, otherwise at the time of elections, such complaints are also received that they have voter identity card but their name is not in the voter list.

This “Name Check” campaign is being run to avoid such unexpected situations during the upcoming elections.

He appealed to all sections of the state including common voters, political parties, social media influencers etc. to participate in this campaign and motivate the common people to check their name in the voter list.

He said that to spread awareness among the general voters about name checking, a social media campaign #NaamJancho is being run on July 25 between 12 noon to 1 pm.
