Adityapur: The recent rape incident in Rajnagar serves as a stark lesson for young men and women engaging in casual pretenses as couples, according to District SP Dr. Vimal Kumar. Addressing journalists at the Jyada Camp office in Adityapur on Thursday, Dr. Vimal Kumar highlighted the serious consequences of a seemingly innocent outing, where a girl was victimized by five friends of her supposed lover.
The incident unfolded when the victim girl, who had gone for a walk with her boyfriend, fell prey to rape by five acquaintances, including a minor. Immediate action was taken by the Rajnagar police, leading to the arrest of all five accused, who were subsequently sent to judicial custody.
SP Dr. Vimal Kumar provided details of the incident, noting that the victim was sitting in an open field with her boyfriend when he left momentarily to fetch a shawl. Exploiting the situation, the five boys approached the girl, claiming that her friend was calling her to the riverbank. Trusting their words, the victim followed them, only to become the target of a heinous crime.
Dr. Vimal Kumar emphasized the need for caution, urging young individuals to learn from this incident and avoid putting themselves in vulnerable situations.
