Dr Sunil Murmu set to become Kolhan University senate member

Jamshedpur, Feb 22: Dr Sunil Murmu, head of department (HoD), Department of Sanskrit, Singhbhum College Chandil, is all set to be elected unopposed as the senate member of Kolhan University (KU). He is also the NCC officer of the college.

Sources said the official announcement of the result of senate elections of KU would be made on 28th February. In all, ten senate members are to be elected from across as many constituency colleges of KU. Monday was the last date for withdrawal of names by candidates. Only two candidates, Dr Sunil Murmu and Professor AK Gorai, had filled the nomination form. Later, Professor Gorai announced that he would support Dr Murmu.

Dr Sanjay Kumar, Professor in-charge of the college, said the university had been informed about the development.

All college teachers and staff have congratulated Dr Murmu on his victory.
