Jamshedpur: Dr Harprit Singh, a senior urologist from Jamshedpur, has been unanimously elected as the National Treasurer of the Urological Society of India (USI). The election took place during the 59th Annual Conference of the Urological Society of India, held in Indore from January 29 to February 1.
Dr Singh’s election is being seen as a moment of pride for the eastern region of the country. This is the first time that a urologist from Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, or West Bengal has been elected to the post of National Treasurer of the apex urological body of India. His unanimous selection reflects the confidence and trust reposed in him by members of the national fraternity.
The Urological Society of India is one of the largest professional medical associations in the country, representing urologists from across India and playing a key role in advancing education, research, and ethical clinical practice in the field of urology.
Dr Harprit Singh will serve a three-year term as National Treasurer from 2026 to 2029. In this role, he will be responsible for overseeing the financial planning and management.
Colleagues and members of the medical community in Jamshedpur and the region congratulated Dr Singh on this significant achievement, describing it as recognition of his professional integrity, administrative capabilities, and long-standing contribution to urology at both regional and national levels.
