Dr Ajoy Kumar to join Congress on 21st August!

Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Vikas Morcha leader and former MP of Jamshedpur Dr Ajoy Kumar is likely to join the Congress party on 21st August.

He met Congress president Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi yesterday. Earlier, he met party national vice president Rahul Gandhi, Ahmad Patel, BK Hari Prasad and other senior leaders of the party and expressed his desire to join Congress.

Sources said Dr Ajoy was earlier in support of a pre-poll alliance between the JVM and the Congress. But following the failure of talks between the two parties, he decided to separate himself from the Congress.

Dr Ajoy may join Congress formally either in Ranchi or in Jamshedpur. He had won the Parliamentary by-election at Jamshedpur in the year 2011, but he faced defeat in the Lok Sabha elections this year in the hands of BJP candidate and his nearest rival Vidyut Varan Mahato.
