Jamshedpur: In a scathing attack, former MP and Congress candidate from Jamshedpur East, Dr. Ajoy Kumar, called upon Odisha Governor Raghubar Das to resign from his position and directly contest the upcoming assembly elections. In a press statement issued on Monday, Dr. Ajoy criticized Das for “doing politics in the name of women,” referring to reports of Das supporting his daughter-in-law in the election while continuing to hold his gubernatorial post.
Dr. Ajoy accused the BJP leader of engaging in what he called “cowardly politics,” asserting that Das should face the people directly instead of using a woman as a political shield. “If Raghubar Das has the courage, he should step down and contest the elections himself. This politics of putting a woman forward to avoid direct confrontation is a sign of weakness,” he said. Dr. Ajoy emphasized that such actions are a violation of the Constitution, which he claims is being “torn to shreds” by BJP leaders, including Das.
He further alleged that Raghubar Das, despite being the Governor of Odisha, is secretly influencing the election campaign in Jamshedpur by promoting his daughter-in-law’s candidacy from behind the scenes. Dr. Ajoy vowed to take legal action against such practices. “The game that Raghubar Das is trying to play while holding a constitutional office is unconstitutional. I will be filing a formal complaint with the President and the Chief Election Commissioner, demanding strict action against him,” he declared.
