DPS Ranchi hosts ‘AD MELIORA’ Quizzing Fest

Ranchi, June 30: Delhi Public School (DPS) Ranchi organized the much-anticipated Inter School Quizzing Festival, “AD MELIORA” 2023, on Friday. The event served as a platform to exhibit the intellectual capabilities of young minds from various educational institutions across Jharkhand.

The quiz fest garnered a spirited gathering of participants and spectators, witnessing students showcase their knowledge and quick thinking in a battle of wits. Jayant Mishra, the State Administrative Officer of the Jharkhand Education Project Council, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

More than 200 participants from 21 schools across Jharkhand enthusiastically participated in this initiative, which aimed to foster healthy competition, encourage teamwork, and ignite a passion for learning among the youth.

Schools such as Surendranath Centenary School, Taurian World School, Delhi Public School (Bokaro), Delhi Public School (Dhanbad), Oxford Public School, Vidya Vikas Public School, Sarala Birla Public School, Tender Heart Senior Secondary School, St. Xavier’s School (Dhurwa), St. Xavier’s School (Doranda), Bridgeford School, St. Michaels School, St. Aloysius English Medium School, Sharda Global School, Kairali School, Bishop Westcott Boys School, Cambrian Public School, Bishop Westcott Girls School, Loyola Convent School, ODM Sapphire Global School, and Shradhanand Bal Mandir Senior Secondary School sent their talented quizzers to participate in this contest, accompanied by their mentors.

The Quiz Competition was conducted in three stages, featuring a wide range of questions encompassing popular culture, including entertainment (films, music, television, video games), sports, news, politics, fashion, and technology, among others. The Quizmasters engaged the participants with intriguing queries to test their knowledge and acumen.

In addition to the Quiz Competition, three more engaging contests, namely ‘Arcanum Aenigma Cryptic Crossword,’ ‘Clavis Thesaurum Cryptic Hunt,’ and ‘Lords Temporal Literature Session,’ were organized as part of this event.

After an intense final round of the quiz competition, the team from Vidya Vikas Public School secured the First Position, winning the coveted cash prize of Rs. 10,000. The team from DPS Ranchi claimed the Second Position and received a cash prize of Rs. 5,000, while the team from DPS Dhanbad earned the Third Position, bagging a cash prize of Rs. 3,000.

In the Arcanum Aenigma Cryptic Crossword competition, the team from DPS Bokaro emerged as winners, securing the First Position and a cash prize of Rs. 5,000. The Second Position went to the team from DPS Ranchi, winning a cash prize of Rs. 3,000, while the team from Loyola Convent School secured the Third Position and a cash prize of Rs. 2,000.

The First Position in the Clavis Thesaurum Cryptic Hunt competition was claimed by the team from ODM Sapphire Global School, receiving a cash prize of Rs. 5,000. DPS Ranchi secured the Second Position, earning a cash prize of Rs. 3,000, while the team from Oxford Public School secured the Third Position, winning a cash prize of Rs. 2,000.

In the Lords Temporal Literature Session, the team from Bishop Westcott Girls School emerged as the winners, showcasing their literary prowess.

While DPS Ranchi achieved the highest points, the Champions Trophy was awarded to Vidya Vikas Public School as the second-highest scoring team, with DPS Ranchi being the host school and not eligible for the trophy. The Chief Guest, Jayant Mishra, commended all the participants and emphasized the unlimited potential that can be honed through opportunities and stages of learning. Dr. Ram Singh, the Principal, applauded the curiosity and eagerness for knowledge exhibited by the students, highlighting their dedication to intellectual development.
