Jamshedpur, April 20: Delhi Public School (DPS), Dhanbad with 27 points in junior category and Guru Gobind Singh Public School, Bokaro with 29.5 points in senior category were crowned the winners of All Jharkhand Carmel Interschool Team Chess Tournament held at Carmel Junior College.
Hosts Carmel was the runner up in the junior level with 25.5 points while S.E. Railway MHSEM School, Chakradharpur with 22 points was the runner up in the senior category. The three day event which started on Saturday, April 18 saw some outstanding clashes over the weekend by cradles from Jamshedpur and other parts of the state. The Closing ceremony took place on Monday, April 20.
The Chief Guest of the closing ceremony was Dr. N.G. Goswami, Chief Scientist, CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory (NML), Special Guest Neeraj Kumar Singh � Working President, All Jharkhand Chess Association, Pritam Singh – Secretary, All Jharkhand Chess Association, Sister M. Sylvie A.C. Principal, Sister Steffi A.C. Vice Principal and Sister Eulalia A.C. Manager of Carmel Junior College were present.
