Jamshedpur, April 16: In a major step toward improving sanitation and civic infrastructure, a door-to-door waste collection campaign was launched in Bagbera on the initiative of Potka MLA Sanjib Sardar.

The campaign was inaugurated at the District Collectorate premises in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi, DDC Nagendra Paswan, Block Chief Pani Soren, BDO Sumit Prakash, DTO Dhananjay and other officials. Waste collection vehicles were flagged off as part of the pilot project, which will later be expanded to other panchayats.

This initiative addressed a long-pending demand of local residents and marked a significant move toward making Bagbera cleaner and more organized. MLA Sardar emphasized his commitment to the project, stating that he was willing to provide additional vehicles from his own funds if required.

Additionally, in response to the worsening drinking water crisis, water tankers were also flagged off to ensure regular supply in affected areas. This measure was expected to provide much-needed relief to residents during the peak summer season. (w/gsd)
