Seraikela: Seraikela MLA Champai Soren on Sunday demanded that the domicile policy of Jharkhand should be based on the Khatiyan of 1935. He said all people of Jharkhand staying here since 1935 should be deemed domiciled residents of Jharkhand. He said the Adivasis and Moolvasis of the state had no problem with the people of other states coming and settling in Jharkhand for jobs or business.
Soren was addressing a party workers conference of JMM organized at a local Dharmshala. The conference was presided over by the block president of JMM Sonaram Bodra. The special guest of the programme was the Kharsawan MLA Dashrath Gagrai.
Soren alleged that the BJP-led government in the state had shut down primary schools in the remote and interior parts of the state. He said the BJP had failed to do in 17 years what the JMM had done in 14 years.
Gagrai, in his address, said the JMM believed in the overall development of Jharkhand. He said many people from other political parties were joining the JMM after being impressed by the party’s ideology and the thoughts of JMM supremo Sibu Soren.
A large number of party workers were present at the conference. They included Bhola Mohanty, Kumar Akshay, Gopinath Gagrai, Trivikram Singhdeo, Shambhu Acharya and Sitaram Mahato.
