Do not pay attention to rumours: Chhavi Ranjan

Seraikela: Seraikela-Kharsawan deputy commissioner Chhavi Ranjan on Wednesday appealed to the citizens to pay no attention for rumours during Karma and Moharram festivals. He said the festivals should be celebrated with communal harmony and brotherhood.
The DC, addressing members of district level peace committee, said the people should neither send nor forward rumours and provocative messages through social media platforms. In case any rumour or objectionable content is found, senior police officials should be immediately contacted for action against the culprits, he said.
The DC requested peace committee members to keep an eye on the social media. He asked moharram akhara committees to resolve their disputes amicably without disturbing peace.
Also present on the occasion, SP Chandan Kumar Sinha said there are a total of 25 Moharram akharas in the district. Licences would be issued to all akharas. Video recording of Moharram procession would be done, he said.
Among others present on the occasion included ADC Kunj Bihari Pandey, Bal Kishore Mahato, Dhirendra Narayan Banka and Vinay Mishra.
