Do not make name, address of COVID patient public: Jamshedpur DC

Jamshedpur, Aug 23: East Singhbhum district administration will take strict action against media houses for publishing fake news, spreading rumor and making public the name and address of corona victims. On Sunday, the administration swung into action when news portal published the name and address of bank employee from Chaibasa who succumbed of COVID-19. The district administration has registered an FIR against the news portal. East Singhbhum deputy commissioner and SDO has urged not to make public the name and address of the corona victims else action will be taken under section IPC 188A disaster management act and IT act. DC made it clear that without the permission of the government no person or organization has the right to make name and address of COVID patient  public either through print or electronic media.
