DLSA team inspects facilities for women prisoners in Jamshedpur Jail

Jamshedpur, May 29: The team constituted by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Jamshedpur, obtained information about the actual condition of 92 female prisoners living in Ghagidih Central Jail and the facilities being provided to them by the jail administration. The team included two-panel advocates Yogita Kumari and Lakshmi Murmu and law school intern Ronald Raphael. The team interacted with each of the women prisoners and became aware of their problems and problems. The women prisoners were questioned about the medical facilities, food, sanitary, and Covid vaccine provided to them. The team also got information about the pregnant women prisoners lodged in the jail and the facilities available to their children. The team told about the free legal aid available to the women prisoners from DLSA. The team asked the jail administration what is the system of education for the women prisoners and skill development program.
