DLSA organizes legal awareness camp in Potka village

Potka: A legal awareness camp was organized in Hathivinda panchayat of Potka under the aegis of District Legal Services Authority on Saturday. Judicial magistrate Krishna Lohra was present on the occasion along with several advocates and paralegal volunteers.

The villagers were informed about different laws meant to prevent various social evils including dowry torture, child marriage, child labour, domestic violence, witch killing and other sorts of atrocities against women.

Speaking on the occasion, the judicial magistrate said those having an annual income below Rs 1 lakh will be provided free legal aid by the DLSA. He said the people should come forward and avail the benefits. He said East Singhbhum was way ahead in providing free legal aid to poor and needy people.

Among those present on the occasion included Nagendra Kumar, Chayan Kumar Mandal, Nitai Gorai, Nanda Rajak and Mukhiya Kanak Sardar.
