Diya and Bablu shine at D.B.M.S College sports meet

Jamshedpur, February 8: D.B.M.S College of Education organized annual sports competition with great enthusiasm and participation from students and staff. Social worker Shiv Shankar Singh was the chief guest for the event. While addressing and motivating the students, he emphasized the importance of good health, stating that maintaining physical fitness is crucial for becoming a successful sportsperson.

D.B.M.S Trust Chairperson, B. Chandrashekhar, honored the chief guest with a memento. The event featured a variety of competitions, including relay race, flat race, long jump, high jump, carrom, tug of war, and shot put.

In the individual championship categories, Diya Pramanik was crowned senior girls champion, Bablu Mahto emerged as the senior boys champion, David Horo won the junior boys title, and Mahima Nag was declared the junior girls champion.

Relay Race Results

  • Junior Category: Blue House secured first place, followed by Green House and Yellow House.
  • Senior Category: Green House won first place, Blue House came second, and Red House finished third.

Yellow House was recognized as the most disciplined house.

  • Tug of War (Senior Category): Red House (1st), Green House (2nd), Blue House (3rd)
  • Shot Put (Boys): Ankur Kumar (Yellow House, 1st), Bablu Mahto (Blue House, 2nd), Balram Pradhan (Red House, 3rd)
  • Shot Put (Girls): Diya Pramanik (1st), Neha Rani (Green House, 2nd), Bhavatarini (Red House, 3rd)
  • Long Jump (Girls): Diya Pramanik (Green House, 1st), Neetu Kumari (Yellow House, 2nd), Anita Sardar (Blue House, 3rd)
  • Long Jump (Boys): Bablu Mahto (Blue House, 1st), Vishal Kumar (Yellow House, 2nd), Akash Kumar (Red House, 3rd)

Competitions were also organized for the academic and non-academic staff.

Present on the occasion were Joint Chairperson of D.B.M.S Trust,  Kamala Subramaniam, Secretary Geeta Mohandas, College Secretary Priya Dharmarajan, Joint Secretary Sudha Dilip, Governing Body Secretary Satish Singh, Principal Dr. Joohi Samarpita, Vice Principal, teachers, and staff members.

Earlier, in her welcome speech, Principal Dr. Joohi Samarpita encouraged students to play with true sportsmanship. The vote of thanks was delivered by B.Ed student Eliza Samad. The program was successfully coordinated with the efforts of Suprabha Panda, Rakesh Kumar Mahato, Dr. Surina Bullar Singh, Kajal Mahato, and Anjali Ganeshan.
