Jamshedpur: In a spirited celebration of Diwali, students of Sona Devi University organized a vibrant Diwali Mahotsav in the university auditorium today. The event was marked by a series of lively competitions that showcased the creative talents of students across various disciplines.
The festivities kicked off with a Rangoli competition, where four teams competed to display their artistic skills. Group C’s intricate and colorful design won them first place in the competition. Following the Rangoli event, a poster-making competition focused on the theme of voter awareness saw Group D taking top honors, with participants creating visually compelling messages to encourage civic responsibility.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, students set up ten food stalls offering a wide array of traditional dishes. The stalls drew enthusiastic crowds, allowing everyone to savor the diverse culinary flavors of the region.
University Registrar Dr. Gulab Singh ‘Azad’ and several faculty members attended as special guests and competition judges, lending support and appreciation to the students’ efforts. Under the leadership of Cultural Committee Coordinator Archana Singh, the students came together to make the Diwali Mahotsav a resounding success, celebrating culture, creativity, and community in the true spirit of the festival.
