Gamharia, Oct 16: Vivekananda International School celebrated Diwali with great enthusiasm, bringing together students, teachers and community members in a vibrant cultural event. As part of the festivities, junior students participated in diya decoration, card and poster making, board decoration and a rangoli competition. The rangoli designs conveyed messages of women empowerment, environmental conservation, social unity and communal harmony.
The program was graced by JP Singh, Secretary of the Jharkhand Basketball Team, as the chief guest and Chandan Kumar, Officer-in-Charge of Azad Nagar Police Station, as the special guest. Mukhtar Alam Khan, General Secretary of the Azad Nagar Peace Committee and Brand Ambassador of Mango Municipal Corporation, emphasized the importance of communal harmony and education in his address.
Chief guest JP Singh praised the students’ rangoli presentations and the school’s achievements, motivating teachers and students alike. “Through art and creativity, children are learning the values of social cohesion and patriotism in a truly inspiring way,” he said, highlighting the educational and cultural impact of such events.
The event was attended by Master Mohammad Jalaluddin, Mohammad Akbar, Sohel Akhtar Ansari, Arif Aftab and school management member Samsun Nisha. Principal Dr. Nidhi Srivastava welcomed the guests, speaking on the cultural significance of Diwali, while the program was conducted by Shah Nawaz Khan and concluded with a vote of thanks by Master Mohammad Jalaluddin.
