TSFIF hosts Matri Shishu Mela
Jamshedpur : The Tata Steel Family Initiatives Foundation (TSFIF) today organised the Annual Matri Shishu Mela. Through this event, TSFIF intends to educate parents on proper immunization of children, breastfeeding practices, healthy food habits and family planning.
Archana Gupta, Social Worker, was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
This year, the preliminary rounds of the competition were held in 10 TSFIF-run clinics in Jamshedpur and adjoining areas. Over 1500 babies from urban and rural areas were shortlisted for the competition, the final of which was held at Tata Steel Family Initiative Foundation today.
The criteria for shortlisting the participants included the health of the babies as well as the awareness level of their mothers.
A nine-member jury comprising Chief Judge Dr. B. R. Master, adjudged Divya Gupta as `Champion Baby Girl� and Dhrub Mahato as `Champion Baby Boy�, respectively.
Other judges were Dr. Poonam Mehta, Dr. Nootan Dayal, Dr. Jaya Moitra, Dr. Subhadra Mallick, Ms. Rama Khanna, Ms. Nishi Thakur, Ms. Hetal, Ms. Padma.
Niloy Mitter, Administrator, Tata Steel Family Initiative Foundation welcomed the guests and Dr. Pushpa Tiwari, Jt. Administrator, TSFIF introduced the Programme. Dr. Rupam Surin proposed the Vote of Thanks.
