Jamshedpur: The triumphant archery team that represented the district at the 37th National Games in Goa received a warm welcome upon their return to the city. The District Archery Association President, Dinesh Kumar, led the reception at Tatanagar station. In addition, a social organization called Shaurya, under the leadership of its founder Amarjeet Singh Raja, honored all the victorious players and coaches by presenting them with armbands and flowers.
The young athletes, who arrived via the Duronto Express, were greeted with enthusiastic drumming and celebrations at Tatanagar railway station. They were adorned with flower garlands and traditional garments, receiving well-wishes for their outstanding performances that brought pride to Jamshedpur and Jharkhand.
In the national games, these young players achieved significant success, securing two gold and two silver medals:
Deepika and Mrinal clinched the gold medal in the mixed team event.
Deepika Kumari won the gold in the singles competition.
The men’s team, comprised of Goldie Mishra, Shrey Bhardwaj, Mrinal Chauhan, and Guru Besra, earned silver medals.
The women’s team, featuring Deepika Kumari, Komolika Bari, Deepti Kumari, and Agni Kumari, also secured silver medals.
