Funds to be utilized in construction and repair of public utility structures
Jamshedpur: Proposals worth Rs 40 crore for the repair and construction of various public utility structures were passed on Tuesday by the District Plan Selection Committee in a meeting held at the District Collectorate. The meeting was chaired by the deputy commissioner (DC) of East Singhbhum, Amit Kumar.
The DC directed the special officers of the three municipal bodies of Jamshedpur, Mango and Jugsalai to take prompt action on complaints received by them and send letters to the Urban Development Department without delay. He stressed the need to carry out maintenance of community buildings to ensure their proper and loing-lasting utility. He said plans should be made in this regard.
The DC said the proposals passed today pertain to urban transportation system, repair of damaged water reservoirs, construction of drains, PCC road, construction of pavers� block road, model urinals, culverts and wedding-cum-market complex and installation of LED high-masts.
Kumar said the Jusco officials should inform the JNAC officials in case they have any objection regarding the implementation of schemes by the JNAC. If the objection is not raised within 15 days, it would be presumed that the company has no problem, he said.
Also present at the meeting, Pawan Agrawal, representative of Chief Minister Raghubar Das, said it was not necessary to implement projects for Adarsh Gram (model villages) through JNAC since the funds for the same were allotted separately. He suggested that the Moharda drinking water project should be implemented after thorough inquiry.
The representative of Jamshedpur West stressed the need for coordination between JNAC and Jusco officials to ensure cleaning in the assembly constituency and disposal of complaints.
Also present on the occasion was the MP of Jamshedpur, Bidyut Baran Mahato, ADC Sourabh Sinha, special officers of JNAC, MNAC, Jugsalai Municipality and officials of Jusco.
