District Health Committee meeting: Additional Home Guards to be deployed at Sadar Hospital

Jamshedpur: Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi chaired a meeting of the District Health Committee’s governing body at the Collectorate auditorium, issuing several crucial guidelines aimed at improving service delivery and strengthening health infrastructure across the district. The meeting was attended by National Health Mission Director Santosh Garg, Civil Surgeon Dr. Sahir Pal, District Welfare Officer Shankaracharya Samad, District Planning Officer Sudipta Raj, and other senior officials.

A detailed review was conducted on filling vacant positions under the National Health Mission, selection of a health consultant, approval of a concurrent auditor for the NHM and Ayushman Bharat Fund, and the functioning of ICU services at Ghatsila Sub-Divisional Hospital along with PICU operations at the District Hospital. The committee also approved the establishment of a District Store Audit and Asset Assignment Team to streamline monitoring of equipment, medicines, and other essential resources across government health facilities.

The parking congestion on the Sadar Hospital campus was discussed extensively, following which the Deputy Commissioner directed that additional Home Guards be deployed to ensure smooth vehicular movement. Matters related to operating a canteen on hospital premises, installing water ATMs for public convenience, and reorganizing the Procurement Committee were also taken up during the meeting.

Reiterating that quality healthcare is the foremost responsibility of the department, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that special monitoring would be conducted to ensure timely execution of all decisions. He stressed that the objective is to enable every citizen of the district to receive prompt, reliable, and improved health services.

The meeting was attended by Civil Surgeon Dr. Sahir Pal, ACMO, all MOICs, DPMs, DPCs, DDMs, and other officials of the Health Department, reflecting a collective commitment to strengthening public health systems in the district.
