Chaibasa, Feb. 11 : West Singhbhum district and city Congress committees observed ‘Jan Akrosh Divas’ against demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes at Congress Bhawan in Chaibasa on Saturday .
Addressing the workers, district congress president Sunny Sinku said, the people of the country suffered a lot during demonetization and on the other hand the amendment in CNT/SPT acts by the Jharkhand government is to take away the rights of land and property of adivasis. Sinku further said that congress party would continue to agitate in stormy way until the government decides to roll back on the amendment decision.
Former minister Devendra Champia said, in the fifth scheduled area the laws are permanent unlike Jammu and Kashmir’s 370 law and the laws of fifth scheduled areas cannot be amended by legislative assembly.
He went on to say that if at all any change is necessary that right vests on tribal advisory council, governor and the president. Whatever amendment is infringed by Raghubar Das government in CNT/SPT is unconstitutional and the public of the state would not accept the anarchic decision of the government.
Many other block level leaders also expressed their views during the meeting. A large number of party activist from West Singhbhum district attended the meeting.
