Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum district administration has pressed into service all departments to ensure a peaceful celebration of Durga Puja. The deputy commissioner Dr Amitabh Kaushal held a meeting with the administration officials and directed them to take necessary measures to prevent any inconveniences to the people.

The DC said the police personnel will be deputed in large numbers to keep an eye on troublemongers. Magistrates have been deputed at various places to make sure that peace is kept round the clock.

A total of 267 magistrates have been deputed all over the district. A reserve of 42 magistrates will be kept at the District Control Room at Sakchi.

Several other coordinating control centres have been set up at Mango, Golmuri and Station Roundabout.

In a bid to keep a check on eveteasing, plain-clothed cops will be there to keep an eye on hoodlums at puja venues. The mobile police patrol teams will keep in touch with the static police teams.

DSP Jacintha Kerketta has been given special responsibility to deal specifically with eveteasing cases. The city police will be assisted by paramilitary forces comprising Rapid Action Force, Quick Response Team, Jharkhand Armed Police and homeguards.

The senior superintendent of police, East Singhbhum, Richard Lakra, said police had made adequate security arrangements for the puja celebrations. He said police will keep close vigil on troublemongers at public places.
