Jamshedpur: Loyola School witnessed an inspiring moment as distinguished alumnus Dr. Rishabh Datta returned to his alma mater for an interactive session with students at the Fasy Auditorium on May 6.
The programme was attended by Fr. Vinod Fernandes, Principal, Jayanthi Sheshadri, Vice Principal, Victoria Prasad, Senior Section Coordinator, along with faculty members and students.
Dr. Datta, who belonged to the early co-educational batches of the school, visited Loyola School nearly a decade after his last visit. His remarkable academic and professional journey left students deeply inspired.
After securing the prestigious A STAR Scholarship from Singapore, Dr. Datta excelled in his Cambridge A Levels and pursued Mechanical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, graduating with highest honours. He later completed his Master’s degree at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with a perfect score and went on to earn a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and Plasma Physics.
During the session, Dr. Datta spoke extensively about his work in plasma physics and renewable energy research. He highlighted how his research spans multiple domains of renewable energy and emphasized the importance of adaptability and continuous learning in scientific innovation.

The school authorities also felicitated Dr. Datta as a mark of appreciation and pride for his achievements and contributions in the field of scientific research. The programme concluded on an inspiring note, encouraging students to dream big, embrace challenges and contribute meaningfully to society through science and innovation.
