Dinkar Jayanti Recitation: Samriddha Ghoshal, Shashwat Tripathi win top honours

Jamshedpur: Dinkar Jayanti was celebrated with enthusiasm under the joint aegis of Sahyog Multilingual Literary Association and the Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Steel City. The event featured inter-school and inter-college recitation competitions, where 30 participants performed the energetic and thought-provoking poems of Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, leaving the audience captivated.

Renowned writer and chief guest Anshuman Bhagat addressed the participants, saying, “Dinkar still guides the youth through his powerful and energetic poems and remains highly relevant today.” Krishna Kharia, President of the Rotary Club, lauded Sahyog’s efforts in promoting literary activities, while Secretary Jitesh Choudhary highlighted the importance of reading and speaking Hindi with pride, emphasizing that it is a language of honor and cultural identity.

Welcoming the gathering, Dr. Ragini Bhushan inspired students to explore literature through Dinkar’s works. She recited poems showcasing various sentiments, describing Dinkar as “fire, water, and the coolness of sandalwood,” which left the audience spellbound. The program was ably conducted by Sahyog member Upasana Sinha, who also shared memorable incidents from Dinkar’s life during the event.

The judging panel included Dr. Pushpa Kumari (Jamshedpur Women’s University), Dr. Laxmi Jha (Retired Professor, Graduate College), Pushpanjali Mishra (Loyola School Teacher), and Aruna Jha (Hindi Teacher), who appreciated the participants’ expression, confidence, and stage presence.

In the school category, Samriddha Ghoshal won first prize, Aditi Jha secured second, and Chhavi Kumar took third place. In the college category, Shashwat Tripathi claimed first prize, Sunil Kumar second, and Khushi Kumari third.

Distinguished personalities present at the event included Savita Pal, Pamela Ghosh, Lakshmi, Arun Sajjan, Balvinder Singh, Dr. Asha Srivastava, Dr. Sandhya Sinha, Krishna Sinha, Hari Mittal, Mam Chand Agarwal, Arti Srivastava, Vipula, Kiran Sajjan, Heeralal, Dr. Anjani Kishore Sahay, and other eminent literary figures.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Joohi Samarpita, Founder of Sahyog, marking a successful celebration that inspired young participants to connect deeply with Hindi literature.
