Digital manufacturing must be integrated into company�s processes: TV Narendran

Jamshedpur, Dec. 22: Manufacturing processes will determine the growth and development of the country and the manufacturing sector of this region will have to quickly adopt the game changer technologies to take advantage of the incremental growth trend, said Tarun Daga, Chairman CII Jharkhand State Council addressing a conference on Manufacturing Excellence � Make in Jharkhand.

He further pointed out that manufacturing of products at par with the global standards, increase volume of production in minimum time with best possible resource utilization methods, adoption of hybrid technology; advanced robotics; PLC, flexibility in manufacturing process for quick changeover options and best possible customer service mechanisms are the key to achieve manufacturing excellence.

He also suggested that skilled manpower will be one of the key factors going forward. In this context, the state of Jharkhand has taken significant lead and has opened 4 CII PARFI Skill Gurukuls and two more are there in the pipeline.

Mr. T.V.Narendran Deputy Chairman CII Eastern Region pointed out that technology aspects are changing the manufacturing processes, it is therefore imperative that digital manufacturing is integrated into the company�s processes.

He also suggested that industry should take measures to absorb the demographic dividend in the country. Industry should take upon them to involve and occupy the semi skilled and the skilled workforce of the country.

He further stressed that strong MSME sector would ensure greater and balanced growth for the economy.

Mr.K .Ravi Kumar, Director Department of Industries, Government of Jharkhand stressed, that Make in Jharkhand is a mission statement and the government is working toward making policy reforms to ensure that the mission is realized, he further elaborated that two major bottleneck for the industry, which are land and infrastructure, are being seriously addresses and policy reform can be seen by January 2016.

He highlighted, that the government is working towards making industry friendly environment to facilitate growth in the state. He also reiterated that without addressing MSME sector , equitable growth is not possible.
