Digital Hira Chuni: 4G sim cards distributed for better internet connectivity

Jamshedpur, Nov. 5: Aiming to provide better internet connectivity to the villagers of Hira chuni, a small village, under Belajhuri panchayat (near NH-33 stretch between Jamshedpur and Ghatshila) of Jamshedpur block, in East Singhbhum district, deputy collector of chief minister camp office, Sanjay Kumar on Saturday put up a camp to provide Reliance Jio 4G sim cards to the villagers.

District manager of Reliance Jio, Sandeep Gupta along with other officers of the company assisted in putting up the camp. Sanjay Kumar reached the village and gave the first 4G sim to Pushpa Mahato and her daughter Puja Rani Mahato. The villagers seemed excited after getting the sim cards.

It is worth mentioning that Hira Chuni village along with the area remained naxal sensitive for years and now Sanjay Kumar, deputy collector of CM camp office is striving to make the Hira Chuni a digital village.

A facebook page, whatsapp group and blog has been created in the name of ‘Digital Hira Chuni’ and local youths are quite active in the social groups. According to reports, an e-mail id is being created of minimum one person from every house of the village.

More than half of the villagers are now active on social media and whatsapp. At the doors of the houses in the village, digital address (which includes email and whatsapp number) nameplates have been put up.

Deputy collector Sanjay Kumar said, Digital India and Digital Jharkhand message is being forwarded in the rural areas. On the occasion, Anoop Kundu, Birendra Dogra, Sadhan Mahato along with Reliance Jio’s Dilip Poddar, Santosh Das, Sarita Bag along with large number of villagers are present.
