Jamshedpur, June 24 : Deputy inspector general (DIG), Kolhan, Saket Kumar on Saturday conducted a meeting of senior police officers to review city’s law and order situation in view of Eid. The senior police cop gave important instructions in view of peaceful festival.
Moreover, with killings of eight persons in lynching incidents due to child lifters rumour, the police are taking extra care to ensure proper coordination.
The DIG scanned criminal cases police station-wise, arrest of anti-social elements. He personally went to various police stations to monitor the preparedness in their respective areas.
The DIG, Kolhan said the law and order situation in the steel city is absolutely under control and if any shortcomings will be detected they will be taken care of by the senior superintendent of police Anoop T Mathew.
At the meeting, the DIG talked to the deputy superintendents of police and asked them to give an account of crime scenario in their concerned police stations area. The senior police officer also later talked to the senior superintendent of police, Anoop T Mathew and superintendent of police and gave necessary directive to ensure the ensuing festival pass off peacefully.
“A number of incidents has taken place in and across the city in the recent past, but the police have also been succeeded to nab those involved in such incidents. The overall law and order situation in the city is not as bad,” said theDIG.
The senior police officer had also discussed about the vehicular traffic system in the city with senior SP, SP (city) and DSP (traffic) and asked them to continue the helmet-checking drive rigorously so as to curb fatal mishaps involving the two-wheeler riders.
An official said that they have reviewed the security arrangements planned for the day. �In several police personnel would be deployed for peaceful observance of Eid festival and to provide adequate security to the people here,� he said. He told reporters that CRPF, RAF, policemen and home guards are also being deployed.
SSP Anoop Mathew also instructed to make effective police picketing and snap checking on the exits and entrances of sensitive parts of the city and take important steps for police mobile, motorcycle on on-foot patrolling to keep close vigil on suspected elements.
