Chaibasa, July 11: A legal awareness camp was organized at a coaching institute in Chaibasa under the aegis of District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), West Singhbhum, on Monday. Paralegal volunteers informed the students about their legal rights and duties. They apprised the students about ten welfare schemes being run by the government for the welfare of children.
The speakers urged the students to be sensitive towards victims of various social crimes. They said all citizens should seek help through the toll free helpline number for children by dialing 1098 in case they see any child in distress.
The paralegal volunteers informed students about Lok Adalat, child marriage, human trafficking, Right to Education Act and various other legal topics.
Amit Poddar, director of the institute, also addressed the students.
