Dhwani 2026 to bring youth voices on SDGs to Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur will host Dhwani 2026, a two-day youth conclave focusing on “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond,” on January 11 and 12 at the Michael John Auditorium. Organised by the Tata Steel Foundation, the event will bring together 354 young participants from across Jharkhand, Odisha and Maharashtra, including Gopalpur, Kalinganagar, Meramandali, Sukinda, Jamadoba, West Bokaro, Joda, Khopoli, Kharagpur and Jamshedpur .

The conclave aims to position young people as active contributors to sustainable development rather than passive beneficiaries. The programme includes youth-led skits, thematic dances, storytelling sessions, reflections from the Manthan Yatra, and interactive discussions on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Senior speakers and development practitioners will interact with participants, while young changemakers will be felicitated for their community initiatives.

A key highlight will be sessions titled “My Life, My Choices: A Balance Sheet for the Future,” encouraging youth to reflect on personal and social responsibilities. Day two will begin with a cleanliness and plantation drive, followed by dialogue-based sessions linking community action to collective impact.

Insights from the Manthan Yatra, conducted across multiple blocks in Jharkhand and Odisha, will guide discussions at Dhwani 2026, ensuring that youth perspectives on education, livelihoods, health, gender equality and water sanitation shape the conversations and outcomes.
