Jamshedpur, September 30: Dhanbad MP Dhullu Mahato who was in Jamshedpur for a Vaishya Samaj programme on Monday, launched a fierce attack on Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy at a press conference in the Circuit House. Mahato declared that he would oppose Roy in whichever seat he contested in the forthcoming elections and claimed that Roy’s defeat was inevitable.

Mahato accused Roy of engaging in politics purely for personal and financial gains, asserting that such leaders should be politically ousted. He urged the public not to support or vote for Roy who, he accused, lacked political knowledge and could not be a successful leader.

Dhullu Mahato further stated that no political party should give Saryu Roy a ticket. If any party did, he appealed to all voters to ensure Roy’s defeat. He also alleged that Roy tried to rejoin the BJP but was unsuccessful.

In response to a question regarding MLA Raj Sinha, Mahato dismissed the relevance of support in previous elections, emphasizing that despite opposition from corrupt leaders, public backing ensured his victory.

Mahato, a three-time MLA from Baghmara, reiterated his commitment to public welfare, accusing Roy of hypocrisy and predicted that he would soon face legal consequences.

Saryu Roy to pursue legal action against Dhullu Mahato

Jamshedpur, September 30: In response to objectionable comments made by BJP MP Dhullu Mahato during a joint press conference in the company of BJP leader Dinesh Kumar, Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy announced plans for initiating legal action. Roy accused Dhullu Mahato of having a criminal background, with convictions in four cases and ongoing hearings in 45 others.

Roy further alleged that Mahato had illegally seized 200 acres of land from small farmers in the Baghmara area, most of whom belonged to the backward Teli community, and had harassed his own relatives. He assured the farmers of justice and stated he would send a legal notice to Mahato, consulting lawyers to pursue the matter in court. (w/gsd)
