Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum district administration has imposed Section 144 in Dhalbhum in view of Lok Sabha elections in Jamshedpur constituency with effect from 13th March. The order will be effective till 11th May. It was issued by the sub divisional officer of Dhalbhum Prem Ranjan.
The SDO said stringent action will be taken against those violating the Section 144 as well as the Model Code of Conduct of the Election Commission of India. The order of Section 144 will not be effective against government officials, non-government volunteers, marriage parties, funeral procession and religious processions or processions for which an order has been issued by the SDO or other senior authorities concerned.
The SDO said the political party leaders and activists will not be allowed to carry or install placards, hoardings, posters, banners and flags related to election campaign at any public place. No campaigning will be allowed in vehicles without prior permission of the district administration.
