Devotees throng pandals during Basanti Durga Puja

Chaibasa, April 5: Devotees thronged puja pandals during the Basanti Durga Puja in Tungri during the Navami on Wednesday.

They worshipped Goddess Durga as the nine day navratri concluded on Wednesday. A member of Basanti Puja Committee Bapi Chakraborty said, We are organising the Basanti Durga Puja since the last five years. Devotees keep fast and offer puja during the festival.

Bhog was also distributed at the Puja Pandal where Sorojit Chakraborty, Bau Kumar, Arun Niyogi, Ashish Kumar and others were present.

It may be noted that Durgotsav is celebrated twice every year in the months of Ashwin and Chaitra. The current one is the Chaitra Durga Puja.
