Development should not stop due to shortage of sands: DC

Seraikela: The deputy commissioner of Seraikela-Kharsawan Ramesh Gholap has directed the circle officers of the district to ensure smooth lifting of sand from river ghats.

He said the circle officers and mining officials should take stringent action against illegal mining or lifting of sand anywhere in the district.

The DC said development works should not be hindered due to shortage of sand. He said he had received complaints regarding hike in the rate of sand, stone chips and boulders. He said anyone getting information about such activities should immediately inform the district administration so that FIR may be lodged against the guilty persons.

The DC further asked the administration officials to ensure commencement of mining activities in the allotted areas.

The Block Development Officers and Sub Divisional Officers should identify such areas and resolve the issues to pave way for smooth mining, he said.
