Ranchi, July 29: Governor-cum-Chancellor Draupadi Murmu said that appointment against approved posts in universities should be done so that qualitative education can be imparted.
She said to equip the tribal and regional language departments in universities with basic infrastructure and help to develop the script of the languages. She directed the universities to provide fine/ performing arts education through self financing scheme.
She said it while addressing the Special Advisory Meeting with the VCs of universities. Principal Secretary to the Governor S. K. Satpathi, Agriculture Secretary Dr. Nitin Madan Kulkarni, High and Technical Education Secretary Ajay Kr. Singh, JPSC Chairman, VCs of all universities and representatives of NCC and UNICEF were present in the meeting.
Expressing surprise over the basic infrastructural facilities and teacher- taught ratio in the tribal and regional language departments of universities, the Governor said that only 4 teachers have been employed to deal with 1600 students in PG Departments of tribal and regional languages.
She was also intimated that many students from these subjects pass NET and JRF. She directed the Ranchi University to use the funds received from the govt. under RUSA for the development of basic infrastructure in tribal and regional language departments of the university and monitor all sorts of construction work.
Reviewing the vacant posts in universities, the Governor directed the JPSC to work promptly in this direction, coordinate with High and Technical Education Secretary and sort out the hindrances.
Laying stress on conducting a survey to discover the students� interest towards different streams in their respective universities, the Governor said that it will help the universities decide which streams are getting maximum learners employed and what infrastructure is required for the development of those streams. It is required so that the department can form a team and work on it.
The Governor said that in all universities, there should be one police post and universities should provide land for the same. Moreover, a branch of a bank is required in all universities.
Laying stress on a fearless environment in the universities, she said that the students should study for a bright future. She also took feedback about CBSE course and NCC operation in all universities.
High and Technical Education Secretary Mr. Ajay Kr. Singh informed that roster clearance has been completed in all universities except Ranchi University. He said that it will be cleared soon.
