Deoghar-Basukinath road will be made four lane: Nitin Gadkari

Deoghar, Jan. 27: Laying the foundation stone for the Rs. 493-crore roadways project, Union minister for transport Nitin Gadkari said that keeping in view the large gathering of kanwaria devotees in Dumka during the Shravani Mela, the Deoghar – Basukinath road will be made four lane so that the kanwarias do not face any difficulty.

According to the minister, the National Highway 114 A Giridih- Deoghar 28.4 km road will be constructed spending Rs. 170 crore, the National Highway No. 133 Pirpainti to Deoghar via Godd –Hansdiha will be constructed with an expenditure of Rs. 185 crore, whoe Rs.84 crore will be spent for constructing the 27.3 km Deoghar- Madhupur National Highway project.

Lauding the work of the Raghubar Das-led government in Jharkhand, the Union minister said the state is developing fast under his leadership.

He said that the national highways passing through the state will be doubled and a bridge will be constructed on the Ganga River in Sahabganj with the expenditure of Rs. 2,000 crore, a water port will be constructed with Rs. 500 crore at Deoghar and pipelines will be laid with an expenditure of Rs. 15,000 crore. Apart from this, four bridges will be constructed in the state at a cost of Rs. 1500 crore.

Gadkarisaid that the entire country is developing and 1 lakh people will get employment in a project worth Rs. 1 crore. Jharkhand will get work worth Rs. 50,000 crore, which will minimize unemployment. According to the minister, when he visits Deoghar the next time, conditions will be very different.

Thanking Gadkari on laying foundation stone for the highways, Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that roads are life-line of a state.

He said that developed roads will lead to development of the state and generate employment.

Jharkhand labor minister Raj Paliwal, minister Randhir Kr. Singh, MPs M. J. Akbar, Nishikant Dubey, MLAs Jai Prakash Verma, Narayan Das, principal secretary road construction department Rajbala Verma and other officers were present on the occasion.
