Dengue prevention measures: Hefty fine of Rs 1.2 lakh imposed on Vijaya Garden Society Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: In an effort to curb the spread of dengue fever in the region, the district administration has embarked on a comprehensive campaign encompassing testing, fogging, and cleanliness drives across municipal bodies. As part of these initiatives, the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee has taken decisive action against those found negligent in preventing dengue infestations, imposing a hefty fine of Rs 1 lakh 20 thousand on the management of Vijaya Garden Society in Birsanagar. This stern action serves as a warning to the general public, emphasizing the importance of maintaining clean and dengue-free residential premises.

In light of the growing concern over dengue cases in the region, the district administration has intensified its efforts to prevent the spread of the disease. These measures include rigorous testing, targeted fogging campaigns, and a renewed focus on cleanliness and sanitation within municipal bodies.

“The Vijaya Garden Society, located in the Birsanagar area of Jamshedpur, has been penalized with a substantial fine of Rs 1 lakh 20 thousand by the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee. The penalty was imposed after authorities discovered dengue larvae breeding within the premises and the improper disposal of dry garbage in an open area. This serves as a stark reminder to all residents and society management committees to take proactive steps in preventing dengue infestations,” said an official.

Local authorities have issued a heartfelt appeal to the general public, urging them to cooperate in the fight against dengue. Residents have been advised to ensure their residential premises remain free of dengue larvae by conducting regular cleaning and disposing of garbage properly. Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in fines if dengue larvae are discovered during official inspections.

District officials emphasize that community participation is pivotal in eradicating dengue from the region. By maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings, promptly reporting stagnant water sources, and taking steps to eliminate potential breeding grounds for dengue-carrying mosquitoes, residents can contribute significantly to the collective effort to combat the disease.

The district administration, in collaboration with local health authorities, will continue to execute intensive dengue prevention measures. These efforts aim to create a dengue-free environment and safeguard the health and well-being of the citizens of Jamshedpur.

As the dengue season approaches, authorities remain vigilant, working tirelessly to identify and address potential breeding sites while enforcing strict penalties for non-compliance. It is expected that these measures will serve as a deterrent, leading to greater community awareness and proactive dengue prevention efforts throughout the region.
