Demands made for ending monopoly foreign drug companies

Jamshedpur: Federation of Medical and Sales Representatives staged a demonstration in front of the DC office with the demand to curb monopoly of foreign companies in drug market.

Basu Roy of the Federation led the delegation and submitted a memorandum at the DC office. Speaking on the occasion the speakers said that the foreign drug companies had suffered huge losses because of world-wide economic recession.

Such companies are eyeing developing countries like India to enforce monopoly in India drug market.

The drug companies from Europe and US are putting pressure on Indian Government so that they can sell their products in India on high prices.

It would pose a question of survival for the domestic drug companies, the speakers said.
